The true value of blockchain is that it allows human connections and connections between truth, data and efficiency. However, it is essential that blockchain has actual utility and that people want to use it daily, says Founder and CEO of Blockchain for All, Jimmy Nguyen.
Blockchain for All is an advisory, consulting and solutions company providing services to help companies, governments and other organisations see blockchain technology in use. Speaking at the recent Domineum Blockchain Day, Nguyen said that discussions now need to evolve past crypto-assets and focus on the blockchain as a global network.
‘This is just a timestamped ledger of events in history, such as payments,’ he said. ‘Because this data recordkeeping system is publicly available, and not kept by one company on their Amazon servers, we can all look at this transaction history and create a more powerful engagement world for all of us.’
‘We can have a world where instead of having a transaction history controlled by a bank, we can actually have a (publically accessible) ledger. You can put your data on this ledger, and the data can actually continue to be accessed by anyone across the world.’
A world of opportunities via blockchain
Perhaps the most obvious way that blockchain connectivity will open up more opportunities for people, is that it opens up different ways to earn, said Nguyen.
He cited several successful projects which have been built on BSV blockchain which are using features such as verifiability, micropayments, and unbounded scalability to offer features which have never been available before.
Some of the specific projects and companies highlighted by Nguyen include:
- Haste Arcade is a first-of-its-kind Instant Leaderboard Payout (ILP) gaming platform that leverages the BSV ecosystem. Instant payouts enable players globally to earn real-time, peer-to-peer rewards for simply placing on a game’s leaderboard. The system also benefits developers who can earn revenue on every transaction.
- VXPASS offers worldwide vaccination verification that doesn’t store your personal medical information. This frees governments, healthcare providers, insurers, and companies from the burden of handling personally identifiable health credentials.
- Codugh is an API marketplace that leverages the power of BSV blockchain to allow developers to earn money from calls made to their APIs.
- UNISOT is a Web3 supply-chain traceability platform which uses BSV blockchain to help improve global supply chains for everything from food to clothes, electronics and cars, says Stephan Nilsson, Founder and CEO of UNISOT.
- InvoiceMate is a blockchain-based invoice management company that serves a client’s needs from invoice generation to settlement and recording.
- Predict Ecology focuses on developing blockchain records for research purposes, with scientists able to track long-term environmental data in an easy-to-understand way because of the power of the blockchain.
Blockchain for All and Metarena
Nguyen also expanded on his company’s partnership with MetArena, and the goal of bringing the metaverse to more people.
MetArena allows people to directly experience the benefits of blockchain through the power of virtual entertainment and immersive experiences. Nguyen added that Metarena would primarily focus on Extended Reality (XR), a confluence of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies.
This includes full music and concert experiences which allow people to experience and engage with artistic performances in new ways. Other areas where this technology is being implemented include eSports arenas and theatre productions and shows, he said.
The arenas are planned for:
- London
- UAE
- Singapore
- Sydney
- Miami
Nguyen said these arenas would be vertical – comparing them to the senate arena in the Star Wars movies. These include immersive pods with haptic floors, small sensory sprays, VR headsets and gallery glass for live viewing and AR.
He added that these arenas will be able to host a range of different events including, live events, avatar events (through volumetric studios), streamed events from anywhere in the world, and VR/AR festivals.
Attend a BSV blockchain event or meetup near you
‘Blockchain Day’ was successfully held during the Digital Nigeria Conference in October, 2022.
The event was organised by Domineum Blockchain Solutions and NITDA, in partnership with the Bitcoin Association for BSV.
