Successful Digital Nigeria Conference highlights BSV blockchain’s potential

Successful Digital Nigeria Conference highlights BSV blockchain’s potential

More than 10,000 people attended the conference in person, with another 5,000 joining via livestream.

BSV Blockchain, in partnership with NITDA and Domineum Blockchain Solutions, was a sponsor at the recent Digital Nigeria International Conference. The conference, which was a phenomenal success, took place on 24 October at the International Conference Center in Abuja.

More than 10,000 people attended the conference in person, with another 5,000 joining via livestream. With high-quality speakers, strong interest from investors and engagement of the Nigerian government, the event is of significant international relevance in the emerging tech sector.

Highlights included keynote speeches from:

A showcase of the BSV blockchain

Several businesses in the BSV ecosystem showcased their projects for the conference, with a strong focus on how blockchain can help emerging economies. In addition, Evan Freeman (Director of Education at BSV Blockchain) discussed how he and his team have educated more than 60,000 Nigerian students about blockchain in its first BSV Academy cohort.

By continuing to support events such as the Digital Nigeria International Conference, BSV Blockchain is committed to building the country’s future through BSV infrastructure. With more than 220 million inhabitants, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa.

Rich in resources and with a developing industry, the country is considered an innovation engine for the region and the entire continent. As the country is still a developing nation and lacks infrastructure in many parts of the country, it presents a special opportunity for emerging tech companies.

The efficiencies that newer technologies can provide have a big impact on Africa. This applies above all to blockchain technology, which can make many processes not only cheaper but also more secure and transparent through micropayments. The power of transactions that cost only a fraction of a cent is showcased by many companies presenting at the conference, such as Centbee, whose CEO, Lorien Gamaroff, gave his keynote speech at the beginning of the first day.
