Applications are now open for the 2023 edition of the Timechain Summer of Code. Running from 15 May – 15 August, the Summer of Code is a three-month programme designed to encourage and support the development of blockchain skills among students.
The programme provides a platform for students to gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills in blockchain development.
Timechain Labs, which will be running the programme, said that its goal is to foster a community of talented and passionate individuals who are eager to explore the potential of the BSV blockchain and contribute to the growth and development of the blockchain industry.
An opportunity to work on real blockchain projects
Throughout the summer, participants will work on real-world blockchain projects, gaining experience in BSV blockchain development, programming, and networking. These projects will range from building decentralised apps to creating smart contracts and exploring the capabilities of the BSV blockchain.
The programme further aims to help students gain a deep understanding of the BSV blockchain, its principles, and its capabilities, as well as key programming languages like Bitcoin Script and Typescript.
Online-focused with further blockchain working opportunities
The programme will be conducted online, allowing participants to work from anywhere in India. Each participant will be assigned an experienced BSV blockchain developer as a mentor, who will provide guidance and support throughout the program.
At the end of the program, participants will showcase their projects on a demo day, providing an opportunity to network with industry professionals and potentially secure internships or job opportunities in the blockchain industry.
Other benefits of the programme include:
- The top five developers will have the opportunity to present their projects at the Metanet DevCon in September. All developers will be showcased on the leaderboard of TSOC and receive a free pass for the Metanet Developer Conference in September.
- Students will work with top BSV ecosystem companies such as sCrypt and get an opportunity to secure a job as a blockchain developer. They can also expect to acquire new blockchain knowledge and skills by working on challenging blockchain projects under the guidance of blockchain experts.
- Selected developers who complete the programme will receive a complimentary Timechain Labs and BSV blockchain merchandise box.
