The recently published Blockchain Barometer sheds light on the general public’s view on emerging technologies and leaves the impression of a public that mistrusts emerging technologies, and blockchain technology in particular, due to being misinformed or lacking knowledge about these technologies.
The publication of the Blockchain Barometer is therefore a good opportunity to draw attention to the educational efforts of the BSV Blockchain this year and for the coming year.
Learn through the BSV Academy
One notable initiative addressing the knowledge deficit is the BSV Academy. This platform, committed to providing comprehensive blockchain education, aims to equip individuals with the skills needed to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape. Offering courses tailored to various skill levels and interests, the Academy empowers learners to understand not only the theoretical aspects but also the practical applications of blockchain technology.
The main goals of the BSV Academy are to increase the knowledge sources, grow the group of skilled people who understand the BSV Blockchain, and provide training that suits everyone. While the BSV Academy is primarily accessible online with a total of 18 courses in four different streams, the Academy representatives also advocate for BSV Blockchain at many other events and contribute to local training programmes.
BSV Citadels: Nurturing trust and collaboration
The BSV Citadels and hubs play a crucial role in building trust within the blockchain community. These physical spaces serve as hubs for collaboration, learning, and networking. By fostering an environment where enthusiasts and professionals can engage in meaningful discussions and share insights, BSV Citadels contribute to spreading knowledge about the blockchain.
There are currently four hubs and citadels, including the BSV Blockchain Association HQ:
- BSV Blockchain Association HQ (Grafenauweg 6, 6300, Zug, Switzerland)
- B2029 (Prinzessinnenstraße 16, 10969 Berlin, Germany)
- Shanghai (2161 Raffles City Shanghai, China)
- Bitcoin Citadel (Andre Design District, 1878 Dr Andres Way, Suite 50 Delray Beach FL 33445)
Blockchain training programs
Beyond online academies and physical spaces, specialised blockchain training programs are also a part of the educational efforts of the BSV Blockchain. One example is the collaboration between the BSV Academy and the National Information Technology Development Agency of Nigeria (NITDA).
Approximately 66,000 people have signed up for the program, of which 12,248 have graduated successfully. The BSV Academy expects that another 30,000 people will start the program this year.
These training programs not only cater to the need for a better understanding of technology but also ensure that professionals across various sectors are equipped to integrate blockchain seamlessly into their respective industries.
Conferences and educational events
Finally, BSV Blockchain as an institution also participates in the organisation of events worldwide. These range from global and international conferences to local meetups, each of which focuses on different aspects of the BSV Blockchain.
Recent examples include GITEX Global in Dubai and the Technical Meetup in Mallorca. While the technical meetup focussed on the transfer of blockchain development skills, the GITEX conference showcased successful business use cases of the BSV blockchain.
However, the biggest event of the BSV ecosystem is by far the London Blockchain Conference, which takes place annually and represents the highlights of the BSV ecosystem.
The road ahead
The Blockchain Barometer 2023 has illuminated the challenges and opportunities on the path to a more informed and trusting global community in the realm of emerging technologies. Educational initiatives such as the BSV Academy, BSV Citadels, blockchain training programs, and global events play a pivotal role in shaping this narrative.
As we look forward, the BSV Blockchain’s commitment to education, collaboration, and community building stands as a beacon of hope in dispelling misinformation and fostering a global understanding and appreciation for emerging technologies, particularly blockchain. The road ahead promises continued growth, increased knowledge dissemination, and the cultivation of a community prepared to navigate the evolving landscape of technology with confidence and expertise.
