The democratisation of blockchain is essential because of the benefits it will bring to billions of end-users and the necessary utility it can offer thousands of businesses. This is the ultimate goal of Blockchain for All which aims to help create business initiatives worldwide that show utility and ‘a world of good’, says its CEO and Founder Jimmy Nguyen.

Nguyen was speaking at a recent VIP Reception event in Ras Al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates hosted by the BSV Blockchain Association. The event, which took place on 8 October 2022, was invite-only and included members of the Royal Family, C-level executives and select media members.

The event included an evening of talks and panels from project owners and key stakeholders in the region and from around the world. Attendees were also allowed to have one-on-one sessions to learn more about BSV and find out more about its business use cases.

‘Around the world, I want to see blockchain used for all countries, people and all types of users from consumers to enterprises and governments,’ said Nguyen.

‘Blockchain for All is an advisory, consulting and solutions providing service to help companies, governments and other organisations see blockchain technology in use.’

MetArena and XR on the BSV blockchain

While over 35 different companies have already approached Blockchain for All for assistance, Nguyen said that the first partnership deal will be with a group called MetArena.

MetArena allows people to directly experience the benefits of blockchain through the power of virtual entertainment and immersive experiences. Nguyen added that Metarena would primarily focus on Extended Reality (XR), a confluence of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies.

This includes full music and concert experiences which allow people to experience and engage with artistic performances in new ways. Other areas where this technology is being implemented include eSports arenas and theatre productions and shows, he said.

New vertical arenas

Nguyen said that over the next five years, the goal is to create five ‘phygital arenas’ around the world on five different continents. The term phygital is indicative of the arenas offering both physical and digital features, with the arenas planned for:

• London
• UAE
• Singapore
• Sydney
• Miami

Nguyen said these arenas would be vertical – comparing them to the senate arena in the Star Wars movies. These include immersive pods with haptic floors, small sensory sprays, VR headsets and gallery glass for live viewing and AR.

He added that these arenas will be able to host a range of different events including, live events, avatar events (through volumetric studios), streamed events from anywhere in the world, and VR/AR festivals.

Using the BSV blockchain

MetArena has already announced a partnership with US company Transmira to provide augmented and virtual reality digital twinning built on the BSV blockchain. Nguyen said that MetArena is also set to use blockchain technology in other ways, including payments and tokens that are used within the metaverse experience.

‘There are so many things which we haven’t thought of, but the ultimate goal is to use blockchain technology in a way that you can see. Instead of just talking about blockchain or the metaverse, or crypto payments – you can see it as an immersive, theatrical MetArena powered by blockchain.’
