What is Sentinel Node?
Certihash’s Sentinel Node is a next-generation cybersecurity detection assurance tool which provides instant file integrity and change monitoring of network anomalies and events, mitigating the overall time to identify a data breach.
It does this by utilising the BSV blockchain to limit the need to transfer sensitive log data to a third party, allowing for exponentially faster detection and alert times.
Sentinel Node creates a chain of hashes for each file entry, protecting the data integrity of all data on the network. These hashes are placed on the public blockchain ledger, ensuring transparency and security.
When a cybercriminal attempts to cover their tracks, Sentinel Node will discover the hash break immediately and alert the system administrator.
Better and faster than the rest at breach detection
While most Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools claim to provide ‘real-time’ detection, in reality, most have a window of more than two hours between log capture transfer, analysis and alerting. By comparison, SmartLedger estimates that Sentinel Node is:
