Gorilla Pool at the Unbounded Capital Summit

Kurt Wuckert Jr. representing Gorilla Pool at the Unbounded Capital Summit in New York.

At the recent Unbounded Capital Summit in New YorkKurt Wuckert Jr (Founder and CEO of Gorilla Pool) presented his company’s services and operations as an exclusive BSV blockchain mining pool. The presentation included ARC, Metanet and one of Gorilla Pool’s newest products called Jungle Bus.

Wuckert Jr. introduced his company, explained what mining is and presented other services such as Jungle Bus. Finally, Wuckert outlined where he sees Gorilla Pool and the development of the BSV ecosystem in a decade.

Mining and hashing operations

Gorilla Pool is one of a few entities that mine BSV. Wuckert explains what mining is in a nutshell. Transactions are initiated from users’ wallets, broadcasting to nodes. Unlike on the BTC network, where nodes can be on regular computers, BSV nodes are typically in data centres.

Wuckert Jr mentions the seven basic farms they have around the country, engaging in proof-of-work activities to find a hash and demonstrate trustworthiness for mining a block. Once a block is validated, it is signed with the pool’s key, attesting its validity, and other nodes are invited to extend it.

Miners are rewarded with a subsidy, currently 6.25 BSV per block, and additional transaction fees. The transaction fees can vary but are a significant source of income, especially for blocks with numerous transactions.

Gorilla Pool’s hashing operations are housed in mobile data centres resembling shipping containers, strategically located in areas with cheap hydropower. These purpose-built centres, though loud and hot due to processing power, enable the company to operate globally. With offices on three continents and strong partnerships, Gorilla Pool is a truly international player in the blockchain infrastructure space.

Customers of Gorilla Pool and Jungle Bus

Gorilla Pool’s clientele includes businesses seeking hosting services on their servers. With service level agreements and a commitment to collaborating with unique and data-heavy applications, Wuckert Jr invites those interested in frictionless payments and enhanced data integrity to reach out.

Wuckert Jr addresses the challenge of validating everything at scale for blockchain operations. Gorilla Pool’s solution, Jungle Bus, acts as a tool similar to Gmail but for the blockchain. This scalable and user-friendly option allows companies to access specific data relevant to their assets without the need to run a full node, streamlining blockchain data management.

Metanet and the future of Gorilla Pool

Wuckert Jr envisions a future where applications can be deployed directly on the blockchain using transactions and scripts, eliminating the need for traditional Internet services. With Gorilla Pool’s tool, Jungle Bus, companies can run their entire operations over BSV, creating a BSV-powered metanet.

The introduction of ARC transactions facilitates efficient data exchange, marking a significant step towards replacing the entire Internet with a blockchain-powered solution.

Positioning his company as a web3 ISP, Wuckert Jr envisions that in a decade, Gorilla Pool will be viewed similarly to established ISPs like Comcast and Verizon when people seek to connect to the blockchain universe. Despite conceptual challenges, Wuckert Jr expresses satisfaction in leading this endeavour with his small team, emphasising their role in monopolising the development of blockchain infrastructure.
