The BSV Blockchain Association, in partnership with social media app my2cents, recently held a Blockchain Developers Conference in Istanbul. The conference brought together technocrats, business leaders, developers, investors, policymakers and thinkers who are curious about the future of global connectivity and the nature of 21st-century commerce.
These top minds discussed the new and exciting ways the BSV blockchain (BSV) can be used and also highlighted why BSV is the only viable blockchain to build on. Venture capitalists and other investors also detailed the various opportunities to receive funding if they start a business on the BSV blockchain.
As more startups use BSV, there is a growing interest and demand for investment opportunities into attractive business models utilising this scalable tech.
Some of the notable speakers at the conference included:
- Satoshi Nakamoto (Inventor of Blockchain);
- Prof. Latif Ladid (Founder and President, IPv6 Forum);
- Robin Kohze (CEO, Vaionex);
- Assistant Professor Senem Seyis (Faculty Member, Özyeğin University).
The event was organised by my2cents Founder Dr Maximillian Sinan Korkmaz, who noted that my2cents had a strong user base in Turkey but that the event had helped get the word out about the app and the power of the BSV blockchain. He noted that this was boosted by presentations from Dr Craig S. Wright and Professor Ladid.
‘my2cents is a sophisticated mechanism, we have explained this mechanism well and I believe they understood it well. After the conference they know my2cents better, our philosophy better, and how to use my2cents better.’
‘The people in the audience were really curious about who Satoshi was. And yesterday most of them learned and they really enjoyed the Satoshi sessions.’
Despite the positivity surrounding the event, Korkmaz said that more needs to be done to boost blockchain adoption in Turkey, especially when it comes to developing applications on-chain.
‘In Turkey, blockchain adoption is not at the place where we would like to see it. In terms of apps that run on the blockchain, it’s close to zero. On the other hand, young people have a great interest in Blockchain but are more on the trading side of the spectrum.
‘The developers would like to develop applications on the blockchain, they usually choose the blockchains that have several issues, but we are here to show them the superpowers of the Bitcoin SV blockchain, I think that will help them to achieve their goals.’
Kormaz was particularly bullish about using BSV and he believes that it should be the protocol of choice for builders and developers.
‘The other blockchains, that they are trying to develop applications on, won’t scale first of all. Secondly, some of them are not legal. Once the regulators actually regulate the industry they will have big problems, if they use the other blockchain they will have big problems with regulations and with the law.’
More about my2cents
my2cents is a social platform on which users earn money with their actions. The platform allows users to post text, videos, and podcasts on the blockchain and make money.
Notably, my2cents differentiates itself from traditional social media websites such as Twitter, Reddit and YouTube in that it does not have a ‘follow’ function. Instead, the platform aims to ‘pay attention to what is said’ instead of ‘who says it’.
No content is shadowbanned on my2cents and it aims to promote the ideas, feelings and worldviews of people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, thus eliminating confirmation bias. my2cents does not have an algorithm that determines what is displayed to each user, unlike other social platforms and search engines. Every user sees the same content on my2cents if their ‘recent/top’ settings are the same.
