9. Standing together as BSV blockchain builders despite the slump
In this opinion piece, Todd Price notes that it’s a sign of passion and the emotional investment that people are putting into the BSV mission that there are such high rates of infighting and attrition.
He details how BSV blockchain got where it is today and explains why it is far better to be taking baby steps in the right direction with lots of grumbling than sprinting in the wrong direction.
8. Certihash and IBM to deploy Sentinel Node cybersecurity tool on BSV
Certihash and IBM Consulting are developing an enterprise cybersecurity tool called Sentinel Node, built on BSV blockchain.
Sentinel Node is the first in a suite of five planned blockchain-powered enterprise utility applications, which will be built in line with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework.
The tool aims to leverage the power of BSV blockchain to greatly reduce the time required to identify a data breach and therefore the total cost of cyber-attacks against enterprises.
7. How mining empty blocks hurt the Bitcoin network
There has been some commentary from people within the BSV industry that miners are within their rights to mine empty blocks and are simply doing so because an economic decision had them deem that the block subsidy itself was a sufficient reward and they wouldn’t bother with the workload of validating millions of transactions because the fees are too cheap to justify including them even in aggregate.
In this article, Todd Price explains why mining empty blocks defy economic sense and breaches Bitcoin miners’ obligations under the unilateral contract with the issuer.
6. Craig Wright is Satoshi, but how much does it matter?
Greg Bledsoe dives into the case against Dr Craig S. Wright and what it says about the rise of tribalism on the Internet.
In this multi-part series of articles, Bledsoe unpacks some of the litigation Dr Wright is involved in and how he faces continued persecution for being Satoshi and developing Bitcoin.
5. Dr Craig Wright explains how BSV blockchain and IPv6 will change the Internet
In this article, Dr Craig S. Wright, Chief Scientist at nChain, explains how BSV blockchain and IPv6 can deliver a true peer-to-peer Internet.
Support for IPv6 is growing around the world as major governments and Internet companies switch to this more future-proof standard. As IPv6 adoption continues to grow, the full potential of the original Bitcoin protocol to act as an end-to-end model of data and payment communication is also unlocked.
4. Bitcoin Association releases mining software to freeze lost or stolen Bitcoin
Bitcoin Association for BSV announced the launch of its Blacklist Manager, the first software tool making it possible for Bitcoin miners to comply with court orders to freeze lost or stolen Bitcoin tokens.
The ability to freeze digital assets is the first step in a process that will allow rightful owners of digital assets to enforce their property rights in the event of theft, loss of keys, or any other instance where a rightful owner is unable to control their digital property.
3. 20 Bitcoin consumer apps that let you earn, spend and use BSV
With BSV leading the pack in enterprise blockchains, its ecosystem of apps is vast and growing. This allows people to earn, use and spend BSV within numerous scenarios. This infographic will introduce you to several BSV consumer apps and an overview of the opportunities they offer you.
This article unpacks some of the consumer apps that let you earn, spend and use BSV.
2. Registrations now own open for BSV Zero-Knowledge Hackathon
Bitcoin Association for BSV, in partnership with sCrypt launched applications for the BSV Zero-Knowledge Hackathon.
Round 1 of the hackathon will run from 2 November – 2 December 2022 and is aimed at encouraging developers to build new applications using zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) while growing the BSV community. A zero-knowledge proof lets one party (a prover) who claims to know a secret, convince another party (a verifier) that the claim is valid, whilst not revealing the secret.
Because of the hiding nature of ZKP, it can be used in many cases where privacy is desirable. More importantly, it can also be used as a building block to construct more sophisticated protocols.
