Zetly and Haste Arcade announce new sports metaverse partnership

Blockchain-based sports platform Zetly has announced a new partnership with Haste Arcade.

Blockchain-based sports platform Zetly has announced a new partnership with Haste Arcade, with the two groups working together to bring the sports metaverse to life on the BSV blockchain.

Zetly is trying to solve the problem of funding for sports clubs and groups, with many teams losing sponsorship deals during the pandemic. It hopes that digital assets such as NFTs will provide new revenue streams and ways to raise additional capital. Haste Arcade, is the world’s first Instant Leaderboard Payout (ILP) gaming platform, allowing users to earn instantly after posting high scores.

‘The ultimate goal of the platform is to demonstrate the utility of blockchain through fun and simple experiences,’ says Joe DePinto, CMO and co-founder of Haste. DePinto said that Haste will now be working alongside Zetly and several other companies – including PowChess and Transmira – to offer major sports teams and franchises an all-in-one Web3 experience that they can then offer to their fans.

‘Our side of it is sports games and giving something to the fans to engage with while the team is not necessarily playing. This is done through simple games where you can play and earn, you have an awesome incentive (for fans) to continue to engage with their teams,’ he said.

This will be complimented by the work done by Transmira, Zetly and PowChess to offer a full sports metaverse solution on the BSV blockchain, DePinto said. ‘I see it as a very cohesive campaign that we are doing together which will open the door to major sport franchises and how they will implement Web3 in the future’.

DePinto provided the example of building a simple basketball game for a sports franchise which fans can play for free and compete for high scores. However, as this game is built on the BSV blockchain, it allows for full NFT integration.

‘Let’s say I go to a basketball game and buy a jersey in the team store which comes with a QR code and an NFT attached. Now I have the physical version of the jersey and the digital version through the NFT, and I can equip that digital version on my player in the game,’ he said.

‘When you start talking to sport franchises about all of the different merchandise they have and being able to actually use that in videogames and the metaverse, now they are able to interact and engage with fans away from the stadium without games being on’.

DePinto added that BSV blockchain (BSV) is the only chain that provides Haste with what it needs for micropayments and on-chain NFTs. ‘Really there was no other option for us. Because we need so many outputs per transaction, BSV is the only blockchain that can do that.’
